More wildlife photographs from Florida, with my 70-200 f/4 "beercan!" you can see the shots over at Smugmug: [link]
I've since made the upgrade to the Sony A700 and have been loving this camera. I've taken thousands of frames with it and I keep finding new ways to utilize the power of this camera. The ISO/lowlight performance still lags behind Nikon and Canon, but I still love the ergonomics of the Minolta DNA that Sony inherited.
Recently, thanks to Wolf/Ritz closing down some stores, I've bought some much needed upgrades for my kit:
- Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G lens (this is one heavy lens... have yet to shoot with it)
- Sony A700 vertical grip (MUCH better ergonomics for vertical shots! no more sore/numb arms!)
Photographic haul from last trip to Florida:
- Manatee!!
- More Snowy Egrets and various avians...
- Gators! Nice big toothy grin closeups of gators!
My new love is to photograph wildlife out in the nature preserves, hiking trails, or out in the sloughs. Having been within 4-6' of a sunny gator with no gate/fence, to get a closeup shot... the Zoo's seem so dull in comparison. ^_^;;
In anycase, sorry for the long dryspells between posts!
Looking forward to Fanimecon 2009 (MAY) and Anime Expo 2009(JULY)!
Hoping to get some more wildlife shots as well as work some model photography into my schedule... so busy!!! ;_;
